WHEN AND HOW DID YOU START BJJ/MMA?
I started BJJ in 2010 when my dad started up his new martial arts gym in Echuca. My dad recommened I try it out, and I have loved it ever since.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
My style in BJJ is using my speed and technique to overcome heavier opponents. I love playing guard agaisnt heavier opponents and using my top game agaisnt people my size.

WHO ARE YOUR BJJ/MMA HEROES AND WHY?
My BJJ hero would be Rooster weight fighter Bruno Malfacine. This is becasue of his awesome top game agaisnt very experienced guard players, and because he has won so many world championships in the Rooser weight division.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE BJJ/MMA MOMENT?
My most memerable moment in BJJ was when I got gold at the AFBJJ NSW state championships in 2016. I was put up 10kg in weight and had 3 fights winning the final by points in the last 10 seconds. This was an awesome experience to win a medal alongside my dad in a comp.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND MOTIVATION TO COMPETE?
My biggest goal is to one day become a UFC fighter and a BJJ world champion. This is what drives me everyday to improve and compete as much as I can, so that one day I can reach the highest level of my sports.

WHAT DOES YOUR WEEKLY TRAINING SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE (INCLUDING S&C)?
Monday- S&C 5-6pm, Karate 6-7pm, Muay Thai 7-8pm
Tuesday- Muay Thai 6-7pm, BJJ 7-8pm
Wednesday- S&C 5-6pm, Muay Thai 6-7pm, Karate 7-8pm
Thursday- BJJ (No Gi) 6-7pm, Muay thai 7-8pm
Friday- (Rest)
Saturday- Muay thai 10-11am, BJJ 11am-12pm
Sunday- (Rest)

IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT DO YOU THINK MOST BJJ/MMA PRACTITIONERS LACK IN THEIR TRAINING?
A lot of BJJ athletes lack the proper flexability and movement their body needs to perform well in Jiu Jitsu. This includes stretching and doing stregth and conditioning to build and use different muscles that will improve your Jiu Jitsu.

WHAT ARE YOUR HIGHEST VALUES IN YOUR BJJ/MMA AND TRAINING LIFE?
Be humble, respectful, honest and commited if you want to succeed. “To fight like a champion you must train like one”

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN OR TO RELAX OUTSIDE OF YOUR TRAINING/COMPETITION SCHEDULE?
Outside training I enjoy football, watching movies, meeting up with friends down the street and eating food.

HOW HAS STRENGTH & CONDITIONING IMPACTED YOUR BJJ?
Strength and Conditioning has helped me alot when rolling against stronger opponents, as it has helped me apply pressure and use my strength to improve my BJJ game. I have also seen a huge improvment in my top game as I feel confident in my strength and pressure now than ever before.
